I am delighted to provide a reference for Mr. Dustin Starwood, owner of D S stone and Tile. Dustin has just completed a 600 Square foot project for the Kihei Ali’i Kai home owners association. The project included installing Brazilian Quartzite stone on our pool, spa, BBQ area, and front walkways. As Property manager, I have worked closely with Dustin for the past three months. Throughout this time I have been impressed with Dustin’s skill level, integrity, and hard work. A few years ago my husband and I had some remodeling done on our family home. We had Dustin come in to tile 2 of our storage rooms, entryway, kitchen and 2 bathrooms floors. He did a outstanding job. In August 2010 we chose you from among several contractors who submitted bids. The work included the complete resurfacing of our pool area with stone, as well as cleaning and sealing the stone in the covered lanai areas and parts of the interior of the house. Not only was the work beautifully done, but ti was completed on time and within budget. Your bid was also very competitive compared to the others we received. I employed Dustin Starwood on two separate tiling projects. His work was always of the highest quality and his artistic creativity really makes his work stand out above ordinary contractors. He is more than capable to handle projects from design to completion. I had the opportunity to observe Dustin in a supervisory capacity. He is an excellent supervisor; allowing his employees to exercised control and independence when the job is within their capabilities and quick to provide direction when that it required. Dustin first worked for me in July – August 2006. He worked essentially as a sub-contractor installing travertine floors, counter tops, and shower enclosures in my personal residence.
2007 Aug – Nov – He worked as a sub-contractor in a Kihei condo I had been contracted to renovate. On this occasion he supervised two of his own helpers, installing ceramic tile floors, Marble shower enclosure, etc. They were very complicated layouts. The clients were very fuzzy and very happy.
2008 May – Bathroom floors and walls.
2008 Oct – Nov – Bigger job floors, ceilings in marble.
2009 Oct – Nov – Wailea condo remodel, travertine with mosaic style art work in the floors and walls. Ceramic tile counters in kitchen and bath, one helper.
2009 Nov – Dec – Bath floors, travertine shower, shower enclosure, no helpers.
2010 Sept – Oct – Wailea House Review: It was a very big job with big deadline pressure. He supervised his helpers and went the extra mile to get the job done on time. Dustin works to perfectionist standards and he does what he says he is going to do.
